JohnsByrne, a GHK Capital Partners–backed premium folding carton and specialty packaging platform, has acquired Municipal Packaging, a Los Angeles–based custom packaging provider. The acquisition adds two facilities and 75 employees, expanding JohnsByrne’s West Coast footprint and strengthening its capabilities in the health & beauty and premium specialty packaging markets.

Granite Creek Capital Partners Acquires NYP Corp.

Granite Creek Capital Partners, a Chicago-based private investment firm, has acquired NYP, LLC (d/b/a NYP Corp.), a value-added packaging manufacturer and distributor headquartered in Elizabeth, New Jersey. As part of the transaction Robert Dahl was named CEO and Granite Creek partners joined NYP's board; sellers included long-time owner-operators Christopher and Jerry LaBelle. Granite Creek said it will support product diversification, expansion, and continued growth at the company.

Bain Capital and BC Partners Enter Joint Ownership of Fedrigoni

Bain Capital Private Equity has signed definitive documents with BC Partners to establish joint ownership of Fedrigoni, the global producer of self-adhesive labels and fibre-based packaging products. The transaction combines a reinvestment by Bain with new investment from BC Partners to support Fedrigoni's M&A-led growth and sustainability agenda; the Fedrigoni family and management will remain invested and the deal is expected to close by the end of 2022 subject to regulatory approvals.

B2B Industrial Packaging (GenNx360) Acquires Springfield Corrugated Box

Charlesbank Capital Partners Acquires BOX Partners

Charlesbank Capital Partners has acquired BOX Partners, a family-owned, technology-enabled wholesaler of packaging, shipping and industrial supplies headquartered in Elgin, Illinois. The deal—funded with equity and debt and marking the company's first outside equity—positions BOX to expand product categories, geographies and e-commerce capabilities; Neil Thomas will become CEO and the company's co-founder and president will step down.

GHK Capital Partners Acquires ITS Logistics

GHK Capital Partners LP, a Greenwich-based private equity firm, completed the acquisition of ITS Logistics, a U.S. third-party logistics provider. The transaction (terms undisclosed) transfers ownership from McNally Capital and its partners (including Coughlin Capital and the ITS founders) and positions ITS to expand services, invest in technology and physical assets, and grow its North American footprint.
