IBM To Acquire DataStax to Enhance watsonx and Enterprise GenAI Data Capabilities

IBM announced its intent to acquire DataStax, an AI and data solutions provider, to enhance IBM’s watsonx portfolio and help enterprises unlock value from unstructured data for generative AI. DataStax contributes AstraDB/DataStax Enterprise (NoSQL and vector database powered by Apache Cassandra) and Langflow (low-code, open-source RAG and multi-agent app builder). The deal is expected to close in Q2 2025, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
