WILsquare Capital, a St. Louis-based private equity firm, has completed the acquisition of Automotive Color & Supply (ACS), a regional distributor of automotive and industrial paints and supplies headquartered in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Midwest Mezzanine provided subordinated debt and equity to support the transaction; the Byers family, which founded ACS in 1951, will transition ownership as WILsquare partners with existing management to pursue growth and geographic expansion across the Midwest.

Automotive Color & Supply, a portfolio company of WILsquare Capital, has acquired Paint Works, a regional distributor of automotive and industrial paint and supplies based in Tyler, Texas. Terms were not disclosed; the deal expands ACS' footprint in the South (Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana) and ACS will continue operating Paint Works branches under the existing Paint Works brand.

The acquired distributor will form the nucleus of D&S's new Field Sales & Service division to expand equipment sales, installation, maintenance, chemical supply and equipment refurbishment and to strengthen geographic coverage in the St. Louis MSA and surrounding areas.
