AIMCo Acquires Cando Rail & Terminals from TorQuest Partners and Employee Shareholders

Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo) has agreed to acquire 100% of Cando Rail & Terminals Ltd. from TorQuest Partners and Cando employee shareholders. Cando, headquartered in Brandon, Manitoba, operates a network of 40+ industrial railyards, nine owned terminals and one short-line railroad with 900+ employees and 100+ locomotives; the transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and financial terms were not disclosed.

Global Rail Trust Acquires Advanced Rail Management

Global Rail Trust (GRT), via its North American arm Global Rail North America, has acquired Advanced Rail Management Corp. (ARM), a U.S.-headquartered provider of wheel-rail interaction consulting and turnkey rail/wheel maintenance services. The acquisition gives GRT a North American footprint and ARM access to GRT's European expertise and global network to expand services across new markets; financial terms were not disclosed.

PSC Group Acquires Bayport Rail Terminal LLC

PSC Group, a portfolio company of Aurora Capital Partners, has acquired Bayport Rail Terminal LLC (BRT), a 115-acre rail, truck and container terminal serving the chemical industry on the Bayport Loop and near the Port of Houston, from US Development Group. The acquisition expands PSC's last-mile logistics, railcar repair/cleaning and transloading capabilities in one of North America's largest chemical and plastics hubs.

RDCP Infrastructure Acquires Majority Stake in Alma Rail

RDCP Infrastructure, part of the RDCP Group, has acquired a 90% stake in Chesterfield-based railway track engineering firm Alma Rail. The deal was supported by financing from Beach Point Capital and sees Alma Rail's co-founder Richard Walker remain in his management role as the business scales under RDCP's ownership.

AECOM Acquires 30% Stake in SLC Rail

MiddleGround Capital Acquires A.M. Castle & Co. and Combines It with Banner Industries

(Castle Metals) and, via a $440 million continuation vehicle (MiddleGround Carbon CV, L.P.), combined Castle with its Banner Industries platform to create a larger specialty metals distribution and processing platform. The transaction brings Castle's global metals processing and distribution footprint together with Banner's precision bar and medical metals capabilities to expand capabilities, geographic reach and end-market exposure in aerospace, industrial and medical sectors.
