Archer Aviation Acquires Hawthorne Airport for $126M

Archer Aviation signed definitive agreements to acquire control of Hawthorne Airport (Hawthorne Municipal Airport) near Los Angeles for $126 million in cash and raised $650 million of additional equity capital. Archer intends to use the 80-acre site as the operational center for its planned Los Angeles air taxi network and as an AI-powered aviation testbed to develop next-generation air traffic and ground operations systems.
