Nationwide Transport Services LLC (NTS), a Fort Lauderdale–based 3PL provider, has acquired the 25-year-old container shipping brand ContainerTransport.com. The deal adds container drayage and global container shipping capabilities to NTS's portfolio, strengthens its presence near JAXPORT (Jacksonville), and expands service offerings across the United States, Canada and internationally.

FleetPride Acquires Nationwide Truck Service of Louisville, Kentucky

(a transportation platform backed by Gemspring Capital) has invested in US Logistics, LLC and Nationwide Logistics, LLC (together, USLN), a Cincinnati-based specialty freight brokerage group. The deal brings USLN's agent network and specialty freight brokerage capabilities into Transport's heavy-haul, flatbed, and specialized transportation platform as an add-on to support growth and expanded service offerings.

Forward Air Acquires J&P Hall Express

Forward Air Corporation agreed to acquire the assets of J&P Hall Express, a privately held expedited transportation provider headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. The asset purchase (expected to close in May 2021) expands Forward Air's LTL pickup-and-delivery footprint in southern Georgia and northern Florida, adding approximately $15.8 million in annual revenue, ~70 trucks and about 110 employees.

Nippon Express Acquires MD Logistics and MD Express (U.S.)

Nippon Express Co., Ltd., via its U.S. subsidiary Nippon Express USA, Inc., completed the acquisition of all equity interests in MD Logistics, LLC and MD Express, LLC, making the businesses subsidiaries. MD Logistics is a U.S.-based third-party logistics provider (founded 1996) specializing in pharmaceutical cold-chain warehousing and distribution, with multiple facilities in Indiana and a site in Reno, Nevada and reported roughly $51M revenue for 2019.

Jones Logistics (Jones Capital) Acquires Volume Freight

Jones Capital's portfolio company Jones Logistics has acquired Volume Freight, a family-owned logistics and transport company based in Columbus, Mississippi. The deal is the first add-on for Jones Logistics and brings approximately 80 employees to the platform as Jones looks to expand its service offering and technology capabilities in transportation and freight brokerage.
