TDK Corporation entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Fabric8Labs, a San Diego-based pioneer of Electrochemical Additive Manufacturing (ECAM), for up to $400 million in cash (upfront payment plus multi-year earnout). The deal is intended to accelerate TDK’s data center initiatives by scaling Fabric8Labs’ ECAM technology for thermal management and next-generation electronics applications.

The acquisition expands U-C Coatings' product offerings into the pressure-treated lumber channel, deepens its presence on the U.S. West Coast, and was financed with support from Madison Capital; Eco Chemical founders also reinvested alongside High Road.

Ferro Corporation Acquires Electro‑Science Laboratories (ESL)

Ferro Corporation acquired Electro-Science Laboratories, Inc. (ESL) for $75 million, expanding Ferro's electronic packaging materials capabilities and strengthening its Performance Colors and Glass platform. ESL, a privately held maker of thick-film pastes and ceramic tape systems headquartered in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, has about 86 employees and generated an expected full-year 2016 adjusted EBITDA of $9.2 million.
