Platinum Equity Invests in Norton Packaging

Platinum Equity has made a significant growth investment in Norton Packaging, a Hayward, California–based maker of rigid plastic pails and other packaging; financial terms were not disclosed. CEO Greg Norton and the Norton family retained a significant ownership stake and Greg Norton will continue to lead the business; Platinum said the capital will support product innovation, potential footprint expansion and pursue add-on acquisitions.

Nelipak Acquires Merrill's Packaging

Nelipak Corporation has completed the acquisition of Merrill's Packaging, a custom thermoformed packaging specialist with production sites in Burlingame, California and Alajuela, Costa Rica. The deal expands Nelipak's healthcare packaging capabilities—adding custom thermoforming, ISO 13485-certified cleanroom capacity and complementary design, tooling and pouch/mounting-card capabilities.

Vonco Products Acquires Flex-Pak Packaging Products

Vonco Products LLC acquired Flex-Pak Packaging Products, Inc., a Batavia, Illinois-based specialist in flexible barrier packaging and sterile DuPont Tyvek pouches. The acquisition, which closed December 31, 2021, expands Vonco's contract manufacturing capabilities for healthcare and consumer markets by adding sterile barrier pouch expertise and complementary packaging services.

Shorehill Capital Recapitalizes Flexpak, LLC

Founder and CEO Brian Kellen and several members of management retain significant ownership and Kellen will continue as President and CEO; financing was provided by Principal Alternative Credit and GMB Capital Partners.
