SpendMend, a Grand Rapids-based provider of tech-enabled cost-savings solutions for healthcare systems, has acquired the Healthcare Division of Moody Associates, P.A. The deal transfers Moody's hospital and health-system profit recovery and contract compliance clients to SpendMend while Moody Associates will continue operating its non-healthcare business under the same name out of Charleston, South Carolina.

SpendMend, a healthcare cost-savings provider based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, has acquired Mazree, a cloud-hosted software platform that helps health systems redeploy and sell used medical equipment. The acquisition expands SpendMend’s cost-cycle capabilities by adding Mazree’s auction, trade-in and redeployment technology to deliver greater revenue recovery and operational efficiency for hospitals and health systems.

Investment funds managed by Morgan Stanley Capital Partners (MSCP) have agreed to acquire Prescott's, a Monument, Colorado–based provider of outsourced clinical engineering, equipment repair, refurbishment and rental services, from Atlantic Street Capital. MSCP will partner with Prescott's management team, led by CEO Brian Straeb, to scale the business organically and via acquisitions to build a best-in-class outsourced clinical engineering platform.

Susquehanna Growth Equity Makes Majority Growth Investment in MediSpend

Susquehanna Growth Equity (SGE) made a majority growth investment in MediSpend, a Portsmouth, New Hampshire–based provider of SaaS compliance solutions for the life sciences industry. The investment will fund product and client expansion across life sciences; Scott Feldman of SGE will join MediSpend’s board alongside CEO Craig Hauben and existing investors Steve Eaton and Dave Cormack. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Morgan Stanley Capital Partners Acquires Apex Companies from Sentinel Capital Partners

Investment funds managed by Morgan Stanley Capital Partners (MSCP) have acquired Apex Companies, a Rockville, Maryland–based environmental consulting and engineering firm, from Sentinel Capital Partners. Sentinel will retain a minority stake post-closing; financial terms were not disclosed. Apex operates over 1,100 professionals across ~50 offices and provides services in stormwater compliance, water resources, ESG, health & safety, transportation, and civil engineering.
