SpendMend, a Grand Rapids-based provider of tech-enabled cost-savings solutions for healthcare systems, has acquired the Healthcare Division of Moody Associates, P.A. The deal transfers Moody's hospital and health-system profit recovery and contract compliance clients to SpendMend while Moody Associates will continue operating its non-healthcare business under the same name out of Charleston, South Carolina.

Morgan Stanley Capital Partners Acquires Controlling Interest in SpendMend

Investment funds managed by Morgan Stanley Capital Partners (MSCP) acquired a controlling interest in SpendMend from Sheridan Capital Partners, with Sheridan retaining a minority stake and the existing management team remaining in place. Headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan, SpendMend provides tech-enabled cost-cycle and profit-recovery solutions to hospitals and health systems; MSCP said it will support further organic growth and strategic add-on M&A to expand the business.

SpendMend Acquires Trulla, Pharmacy Procurement Software Pioneer

Susquehanna Growth Equity Makes Majority Growth Investment in MediSpend

Susquehanna Growth Equity (SGE) made a majority growth investment in MediSpend, a Portsmouth, New Hampshire–based provider of SaaS compliance solutions for the life sciences industry. The investment will fund product and client expansion across life sciences; Scott Feldman of SGE will join MediSpend’s board alongside CEO Craig Hauben and existing investors Steve Eaton and Dave Cormack. Financial terms were not disclosed.
