ChowNow, a Los Angeles–based online ordering and marketing platform for independent restaurants, has acquired Cuboh, a Canadian startup that consolidates orders from multiple delivery services and integrates directly with POS systems. The acquisition will let ChowNow integrate Cuboh's order-consolidation technology (now integrated into 14 POS systems) into its suite of products to simplify off-premise operations for restaurant partners.

Chowly Acquires Koala

Chowly, a Chicago-based restaurant technology company, has acquired Koala, a guest experience and online ordering platform that serves restaurant brands via web, app and kiosk. The combination brings together Chowly's POS and third-party delivery integrations with Koala's enterprise-grade ordering and guest-experience capabilities to expand product functionality across more than 16,000 restaurant locations.

Schneider National Acquires Cowan Systems, LLC

Schneider National, Inc. agreed to acquire Cowan Systems, LLC and affiliated entities for approximately $390 million in cash, plus separate real estate purchases of about $31 million. The Baltimore-based dedicated contract carrier — which operates roughly 1,800 trucks and 7,500 trailers across 40+ Eastern and Mid‑Atlantic locations — will become a wholly owned subsidiary to expand Schneider's Dedicated capacity and capabilities.

Creative Bus Sales Acquires Alliance Bus Group

Creative Bus Sales, the nation's largest bus dealership based in Chino, California, acquired Alliance Bus Group, a multi-state bus dealership headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. The acquisition expands Creative's sales and service network to 21 locations and strengthens its support footprint for transit, school, and retail bus customers across the U.S.

Wonder Acquires Grubhub from Just Eat Takeaway.com

Wonder, the delivery-first food hall and mealtime platform founded by Marc Lore, will acquire Grubhub from Just Eat Takeaway.com for an enterprise value of $650 million (including $500 million of senior notes and $150 million cash). The acquisition will integrate Grubhub’s large marketplace and logistics network into Wonder’s app to accelerate Wonder’s ‘super app for mealtime’ strategy; the deal is expected to close in Q1 2025 and Jefferies served as Wonder’s financial advisor.

Banyan Software Acquires Trans Plus Software

Banyan Software has acquired Trans Plus Software, a Guelph, Ontario–based provider of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and fleet/logistics management software. Banyan said it will invest in Trans Plus’s technology and team to grow the business as part of its strategy to acquire and scale enterprise software companies.
