Synopsys has acquired Ansys in a cash-and-stock transaction valued at about $35 billion, combining Synopsys' electronic design automation (EDA) and IP capabilities with Ansys' simulation and analysis portfolio to create an integrated "silicon-to-systems" engineering leader. The deal, announced January 16, 2024 and completed July 17, 2025, positions the combined company to deliver integrated multiphysics and EDA solutions across semiconductors, automotive, aerospace and other industries.

Ansys Acquires Zemax

Ansys announced a definitive agreement to acquire Zemax, a leader in optical imaging and photonics simulation software, from EQT Private Equity. The acquisition expands Ansys' optics and photonics simulation capabilities by adding Zemax's OpticStudio and related technologies; the deal was expected to close in Q4 2021 pending customary approvals.

Ansys Acquires Diakopto

Ansys entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Diakopto, a provider of differentiated EDA solutions focused on interconnect parasitic analysis for integrated circuits. The acquisition is intended to expand Ansys' multiphysics simulation and signoff capabilities—helping IC designers detect parasitic-related issues earlier in the design flow—and was expected to close in Q2 2023 subject to customary conditions.

Keysight Technologies Acquires ESI Group

Keysight Technologies announced the successful result of its cash tender offer for ESI Group shares and will hold 98.2% of ESI's share capital following settlement. Keysight said it will request a squeeze-out of remaining shares at the same cash price (€155 per share); ESI is a France-based provider of predictive physics modeling and virtual prototyping software with ~1,000 employees and ~€130m in 2022 revenue.

Keysight Technologies Acquires SCALABLE Network Technologies

Keysight Technologies acquired SCALABLE Network Technologies, a Culver City–based provider of communications network simulation and modeling solutions, to augment its 5G and cybersecurity software portfolio. The deal (terms not disclosed) will integrate SCALABLE’s network digital-twin and cyber-assessment capabilities into Keysight’s offerings for commercial, government and defense customers.
