Huizenga Group Makes Strategic Investment in Bulldog Factory Service

Huizenga Group, a privately held investment firm based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, announced a strategic investment in Santanna Tool & Design Company – Bulldog Factory Service, a full-service automation supplier headquartered in Madison Heights, Michigan. The partnership will support Bulldog's growth in automation, welding and conveyor systems and help the company expand customer relationships and operational capabilities across its U.S. and Mexico operations.

Allied Motion Acquires Spectrum Controls, Inc.

Allied Motion Technologies Inc. acquired Spectrum Controls, Inc., a Bellevue, Washington–based designer and manufacturer of industrial I/O modules, displays and communications gateways, for a total purchase price of $70 million (approximately $45 million paid at closing, with $25 million deferred). Spectrum, founded in 1983 with about 72 employees, will expand Allied Motion’s industrial automation product portfolio and engineering capabilities and is expected to be accretive to earnings and gross margin.

Cornell Capital LLC has acquired Spectrum Automotive Holdings Corp. from Southfield Capital; terms were not disclosed. Spectrum, headquartered in Fairfield, New Jersey, is an agent, marketer and administrator of finance and insurance (F&I) products serving more than 1,400 dealers, OEMs and administrators across the U.S. Southfield Capital had owned Spectrum since 2015 and the management team will remain as significant shareholders alongside Cornell Capital.

The deal (approximately $8.0M cash plus $1.5M escrow and restricted shares) nearly triples AmpliTech's revenue base, adds a global distribution platform and a record combined order backlog of $11.4M, and is intended to accelerate commercialization of AmpliTech's MMIC chip solutions.
