ZEISS Acquires Capture 3D

ZEISS Group has agreed to acquire Capture 3D, a US-based leading partner for GOM 3D non-contact measuring solutions, to strengthen its Industrial Quality & Research segment and expand national coverage in the United States. Capture 3D, headquartered in Santa Ana, California with ~100 employees and roughly $44 million in 2019 revenue, will join ZEISS' Industrial Quality Solutions business unit; financial terms were not disclosed and the deal is subject to regulatory approval.

Sandvik Acquires ICAM Technologies Corporation

Sandvik AB has signed an agreement to acquire Canada-based ICAM Technologies Corporation, a provider of post-processing, machine simulation and tool-path optimization software for CNC machining. ICAM (founded in Montreal in 1971) will be reported within Sandvik Coromant; the company has about 27 employees and 2020 revenues of roughly SEK 30 million. The deal is expected to close in Q4 2021 and strengthens Sandvik's verification and optimization offering for component manufacturing.

Glassbox Acquires SessionCam

Glassbox, a digital experience analytics provider, has acquired SessionCam to combine capabilities and expand its web and mobile customer experience analytics offering. The deal creates a combined business with more than 300 customers worldwide (including major banks and leading brands) and follows Glassbox’s recent $40M financing, strengthening its market position across financial services, telecommunications, retail and insurance.

Zebra Technologies Acquires Matrox Imaging

Zebra Technologies announced the acquisition of Matrox Imaging (Matrox Electronic Systems Ltd.), a developer of machine vision hardware and software, for $875 million to broaden its industrial machine vision and automation offerings. The deal expands Zebra’s software, machine learning and fixed industrial scanning capabilities and is expected to close in 2022 after customary approvals.

Ansys Acquires Zemax

Ansys announced a definitive agreement to acquire Zemax, a leader in optical imaging and photonics simulation software, from EQT Private Equity. The acquisition expands Ansys' optics and photonics simulation capabilities by adding Zemax's OpticStudio and related technologies; the deal was expected to close in Q4 2021 pending customary approvals.

Kongsberg Precision Cutting Systems Acquires MultiCam

Kongsberg Precision Cutting Systems (a portfolio company of OpenGate Capital) has acquired MultiCam, a U.S. manufacturer and distributor of CNC cutting machines and digital finishing systems, from Rosewood Private Investments. The add-on expands Kongsberg PCS's product portfolio and market reach across North America and Europe, combining both companies' installed bases and capabilities in digital finishing and CNC cutting.
