ZEISS Acquires Ncam Technologies

ZEISS has acquired UK-based Ncam Technologies Ltd to integrate Ncam’s hybrid camera-tracking technology into ZEISS’s cinema product and lens-data ecosystem, enhancing offerings for cinema, broadcast, virtual production and visual effects workflows. Ncam, founded in 2012 with offices in London and Los Angeles, will work with ZEISS to expand customer support and product capabilities with an upgrade path for existing Ncam users.

Zebra Technologies Acquires Profitect Inc.

Zebra Technologies announced it will acquire Profitect Inc., a provider of prescriptive analytics and machine‑learning solutions for retail and CPG, to expand Zebra's Intelligent Edge and Enterprise Asset Intelligence capabilities. The acquisition brings Profitect's technology and talent into Zebra's Savanna data platform; financial terms were not disclosed and the deal was expected to close in Q2 2019 subject to customary conditions.

Ansys Acquires Zemax

Ansys announced a definitive agreement to acquire Zemax, a leader in optical imaging and photonics simulation software, from EQT Private Equity. The acquisition expands Ansys' optics and photonics simulation capabilities by adding Zemax's OpticStudio and related technologies; the deal was expected to close in Q4 2021 pending customary approvals.

ZEISS Acquires Capture 3D

ZEISS Group has agreed to acquire Capture 3D, a US-based leading partner for GOM 3D non-contact measuring solutions, to strengthen its Industrial Quality & Research segment and expand national coverage in the United States. Capture 3D, headquartered in Santa Ana, California with ~100 employees and roughly $44 million in 2019 revenue, will join ZEISS' Industrial Quality Solutions business unit; financial terms were not disclosed and the deal is subject to regulatory approval.

MOBOTIX AG Acquires Vaxtor Group (AI-based Video Analytics / ALPR)

MOBOTIX AG has reached an agreement to acquire Vaxtor Group, a Tres Cantos, Spain-based provider of AI-driven video analytics specializing in OCR and Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR). The acquisition strengthens MOBOTIX's AI and deep learning capabilities and creates commercial and development synergies between Vaxtor's analytics and MOBOTIX's camera platforms and video management software.
