Smartaira Acquires Assets of Direct Plus, LLC

Smartaira acquired the assets of Florida-based multifamily ISP Direct Plus, LLC to expand its east coast footprint and grow its bulk internet and entertainment subscription base in the MDU market. SDC Capital Partners provided capital for the acquisition and Smartaira signed a national service agreement with MasTec Advanced Technologies to maintain installation and fulfillment continuity for Direct Plus customers.

SDC Capital Partners Acquires Majority Stake in Smartaira

Funds managed by SDC Capital Partners acquired a majority interest in Consolidated Smart Systems, LLC (dba Smartaira), providing the multifamily-focused ISP with capital to accelerate organic growth and an acquisition strategy. SDC committed up to an additional $100 million to expand Smartaira’s footprint while Smartaira has already used the backing to close add-on acquisitions (including portfolios from Just In Time Technology Solutions and Blue Rim Networks).

Mobile Communications America (MCA) Acquires LightSpeed Technologies, Inc.

(MCA) has acquired LightSpeed Technologies, Inc., a Wall Township, New Jersey-based provider of broadband fixed networks, IP/MPLS routing and optical network systems. The deal (advised by Generational Capital Markets to LightSpeed) expands MCA’s data capabilities and strengthens its Northeast U.S. footprint.

Molekule Acquires Aura Smart Air Ltd.

Molekule Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: MKUL) entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Israeli-based Aura Smart Air Ltd. in an all‑stock merger valued at approximately $10 million. The deal adds Aura's IoT-enabled sensors, software and data-driven air purification platform to Molekule's FDA‑cleared device portfolio to accelerate the company's push into B2B and enterprise Safe‑Air‑as‑a‑Service solutions; the transaction was expected to close in the second half of 2023 subject to customary conditions.

The deal adds approximately $2.0 million in annual recurring revenue and more than 22,000 installed and committed units, expanding SmartRent's presence in the new-build multifamily market and the southeastern U.S.

AerioConnect Acquires Metro Fiber

AerioConnect, backed by private equity firm M/C Partners, has acquired Metro Fiber LLC, a Los Angeles–based internet service provider serving multi-family residential (HOA) communities. The acquisition, which closed after M/C Partners' September 30, 2020 investment in Aerio, expands Aerio's customer base and depth in the greater Los Angeles broadband market.
