Akoya Capital Partners acquired Star Plastics, a Ravenswood, West Virginia-based custom plastics compounder, as the anchor investment for a new compounds buy-and-build platform. The transaction was supported with mezzanine subordinated debt and common equity from NewSpring Mezzanine and involved Trinity Investors as a partnering investor; Star Plastics (≈140 employees) will pursue organic growth and M&A to expand its capabilities and geographic reach.

Sky Peak Capital Acquires TriStar Plastics

Boston-based private equity firm Sky Peak Capital has acquired TriStar Plastics Corp., a Shrewsbury, Massachusetts manufacturer of engineered plastic solutions and self-lubricating bearings. The transaction is supported by a unitranche credit facility and equity co-investment from Graycliff Partners, with Jackson Walker LLP, CohnReznick, and Configure Partners advising on the deal and financing.

Evantic Acquires Vertec Polymers, Inc.

Evantic, a portfolio company of Edgewater Capital Partners, has acquired Vertec Polymers, a Houston-based designer and manufacturer of high-performance polymer materials including PEEK, PPS, PTFE and PFA. The acquisition expands Evantic's engineered components platform by adding polymer R&D, injection and hot-compression molding, and precision machining capabilities to better serve customers in the energy, life sciences, food & beverage and industrial markets.

TriMas Acquires Intertech Plastics

Aurora Material Solutions Merges with Enviroplas

Trelleborg Group Acquires Aero-Plastics Inc.

Trelleborg Group, through its Trelleborg Sealing Solutions business area, has signed an agreement to acquire Aero-Plastics Inc., a Renton, Washington-based manufacturer of precision injection-molded and thermoformed high-performance polymer components for the aerospace interiors market. The acquisition — expected to close in Q2 2025 — expands Trelleborg's thermoplastics and interiors capabilities, adds capacity and customer relationships, and is intended to generate sales synergies within its aerospace offering.
