Quantum Computing Inc. Acquires Luminar Semiconductor, Inc. for $110 Million

Quantum Computing Inc. (QCi) completed an all-cash acquisition of Luminar Semiconductor, Inc. (LSI) from Luminar Technologies, Inc. for $110 million. The deal strengthens QCi’s roadmap to build a vertically integrated, domestic photonics and quantum platform by bringing lasers, detectors, packaging, and manufacturing capabilities together with QCi’s thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) technology.

Luminar Technologies Acquires EM4 Optoelectronics Unit from Gooch & Housego

Luminar Technologies has acquired the EM4 optoelectronic components and laser modules business (G&H Boston) from Gooch & Housego to strengthen its Luminar Semiconductor division and broaden its capability into aerospace and defense markets. Gooch & Housego disclosed the sale of EM4 for up to $12 million; the deal was finalised in March and supports Luminar's strategy to expand beyond automotive lidar into wider photonics and semiconductor manufacturing.

CACI International Acquires SA Photonics

Luminar Technologies Acquires OptoGration Inc.

Luminar Technologies has acquired its exclusive InGaAs photodetector design partner and specialized fabrication partner, OptoGration Inc., securing chip IP and production capacity to support series production of its Iris lidar sensor. The deal brings OptoGration’s founders into Luminar, secures roughly one million InGaAs chips per year capacity (expandable), and deepens integration with Luminar’s Black Forest Engineering assets to accelerate production and reduce costs.

ALPHAEON Corporation has agreed to acquire substantially all assets of LENSAR, Inc. in a transaction valued at up to $59 million in cash, stock and assumed debt. The deal brings LENSAR’s femtosecond cataract laser technology into ALPHAEON’s lifestyle healthcare portfolio and expands ALPHAEON’s ophthalmology offering for its global network of ophthalmologists.
