OCI Global (via its wholly owned subsidiary OCI Chemicals B.V.) sold all remaining Methanex Corporation shares it held, disposing of 2,612,962 common shares (about 3.4% of Methanex’s issued shares) on April 20, 2026. The block trade generated net proceeds of approximately US$138.1 million, and OCI no longer owns or directs any Methanex shares.

Methanex Acquires OCI Methanol from OCI Global for $1.6 Billion

Methanex Corporation has completed the acquisition of 100% of OCI Global's methanol business (OCI Methanol) for USD 1.6 billion on a cash‑free, debt‑free basis, consisting of approximately USD 1.3 billion of cash and 9.9 million Methanex common shares. The deal transfers multiple methanol production assets (including facilities in Beaumont, Texas and Delfzijl, Netherlands, and OCI's HyFuels low‑carbon business) to Methanex and enables OCI to return capital to shareholders and reduce debt.

ADNOC and OMV to Create Borouge Group International via Acquisition of Nova Chemicals

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and OMV announced they will merge to form Borouge Group International, a new polyolefins chemicals group. As part of the transaction, Borouge Group International will acquire Nova Chemicals from Mubadala for $13.4 billion, with the overall deal expected to close in the first quarter of 2026.

ADNOC Acquires OCI's 50% Stake in Fertiglobe

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has completed the purchase of OCI Global’s entire 50%+1 equity stake in Fertiglobe for USD 3.62 billion on a cash-free debt-free basis, increasing ADNOC's ownership in Fertiglobe to 86.2%. The transaction marks OCI's full exit to monetize its investment; Fertiglobe's board re‑appointed Ahmed El‑Hoshy as CEO effective 15 October 2024 and the ADX free float remains at 13.8%.

Woodside Energy Group Acquires OCI Clean Ammonia Project in Beaumont, Texas

OCI Global has completed the divestment of its 1.1 million metric tonnes Clean Ammonia project under construction in Beaumont, Texas to Woodside Energy Group Ltd. The transaction is valued at about USD 2.35 billion on a cash-free, debt-free basis and OCI will continue to manage construction through provisional acceptance.

EIG to Acquire Ocyan for US$390 Million
