AMPCO METAL S.A., a global maker of copper-based alloys, has acquired Switzerland-based Schmelzmetall Group, a producer of high-performance copper alloys and metal powders. The acquisition expands AMPCO METAL’s capabilities in additive manufacturing, vacuum-cast alloys and other specialized copper materials to better serve aerospace, defense and advanced manufacturing customers.

Mueller Industries Acquires Nehring Electrical Works Company

Mueller Industries, Inc. (NYSE: MLI) agreed to acquire Nehring Electrical Works Company and certain affiliates for approximately $575 million plus a $25 million earn-out, and has completed the transaction. Nehring, headquartered in DeKalb, Illinois, manufactures wire and cable solutions for utilities, telecommunications, electrical distribution and OEM customers; Mueller said the deal expands its presence in electrical and power infrastructure and is expected to be accretive to 2024 results.

BSM Acquisition Acquires Bauer Sheet Metal and Fabricating

Bauer Sheet Metal and Fabricating, a nearly 100-year-old family-owned metal fabricator based in Muskegon, Michigan, was acquired by BSM Acquisition, LLC of Cincinnati, Ohio. The owners sold the business to facilitate their retirement and ensure continuity under new ownership; financial terms were not disclosed.

Hummock Industries Acquires National Bronze Manufacturing

Hummock Industries (Reading, Pennsylvania) has acquired Roseville, Michigan-based National Bronze Manufacturing, a producer and distributor of precision machined bronze bearings, bushings, wear plates and copper alloy bar and tube. Hummock said the purchase complements its subsidiary Heyco Metals, diversifies revenue streams and provides a platform to grow downstream into value-added engineered products.

Muhr und Bender (Mubea) Acquires Cyclone Manufacturing Inc.

Muhr und Bender KG (Mubea) has signed an agreement to acquire Canadian aerospace parts manufacturer Cyclone Manufacturing Inc. from Andrew Sochaj and his family. Cyclone — with roughly 700 employees across Canada and Poland and approx. CAD 120 million in sales (FY22/23) — will be integrated into Mubea's Aviation Division to expand Mubea's production capabilities in larger components and assemblies and broaden its aerospace customer base.
