RedBird IMI Takes Majority Stake in Front Office Sports

RedBird IMI, a joint venture between RedBird Capital Partners and International Media Investments, has taken a majority stake in Front Office Sports, buying out early investor SC Holdings. The investment expands RedBird IMI's partnership with FOS after an initial minority investment in November 2023 and is intended to accelerate the company's growth across content, events and distribution.

RedBird Capital Partners has made a significant minority investment in Fenway Sports Group (FSG) at an enterprise valuation of $7.35 billion to support accelerated growth and strategic acquisitions across FSG’s sports, media and real estate platform. As part of the transaction, LeBron James, Maverick Carter and Paul Wachter exchange a previously held interest in Liverpool FC to join FSG’s ownership group; Sam Kennedy also converts long-term incentive interests into equity.

RedBird IMI Acquires All3Media from Warner Bros. Discovery and Liberty Global

RedBird IMI agreed to acquire All3Media, the London-based independent television production and distribution group, from Warner Bros. Discovery and Liberty Global for £1.15 billion. The deal — RedBird IMI's largest to date — completed regulatory approvals in the United States, United Kingdom and Germany; Jeff Zucker will chair All3Media's board while CEO Jane Turton and COO Sara Geater remain in place.

RedBird Capital Partners will invest US$80 million for a 24.2% preferred equity stake in Main Event Entertainment, valuing the business at an implied enterprise value of US$424 million. The transaction provides Main Event with near-term financial flexibility and a strategic partner to support U.S. growth; RedBird also holds an option to acquire an additional 26.8% interest from Ardent Leisure between July 2022 and July 2024.
