TT Electronics Acquires Torotel

TT Electronics has agreed to acquire Torotel, a US designer and manufacturer of high-reliability power and magnetic assemblies for the aerospace and defense markets, for $43.4 million. The acquisition expands TT's power electronics capabilities and US footprint, and Torotel will be integrated as a wholly owned subsidiary subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals.

Teledyne will also purchase ETM's purpose-built manufacturing facility from an affiliate of ETM and its owners; financial terms were not disclosed.

Toromont Industries Acquires 60% Stake in AVL Manufacturing Inc.

Toromont Industries Ltd. has acquired a 60% ownership stake in AVL Manufacturing Inc., a Hamilton, Ontario-based designer and fabricator of power generation and energy storage enclosures that serves the data centre market across eastern North America. The purchase was paid in cash and Toromont shares, and Toromont has committed to buying the remaining 40% by agreed dates through 2031 based on performance; the acquisition secures supply for Toromont Power Systems and is not expected to have a material near-term impact on combined results.

Teledyne Technologies has agreed to acquire select aerospace and defense electronics businesses from Excelitas Technologies for approximately $710 million in cash, including the UK-based Optical Systems business (branded Qioptiq) and the U.S.-based Advanced Electronic Systems (AES) business. The businesses will be folded into Teledyne's Aerospace and Defense Electronics segment (operating under the name Teledyne Qioptiq for the optical business) to expand Teledyne's capabilities in optics, tactical night-vision, defense electronics and space applications.

(PTI), adding PTI's 20,000-square-foot Baltimore-area electronics manufacturing facility to expand Patton's Maryland production footprint and manufacturing capabilities. The deal strengthens Patton's contract manufacturing platform by adding PCB assembly, wire-and-cable harness, electro-mechanical assembly, and potting/encapsulation capabilities to support defense, aerospace, and industrial customers.
