Navitas Semiconductor Acquires GeneSiC Semiconductor

Navitas Semiconductor (Nasdaq: NVTS) has acquired GeneSiC Semiconductor, a specialist in silicon carbide (SiC) power devices, in a cash-and-stock deal valued at roughly $100 million plus stock and potential earn-outs. The acquisition adds SiC capability and a profitable, fast-growing business (2022 revenue ~ $25M, >25% EBITDA margins) to Navitas' GaN portfolio to create a more comprehensive power-semiconductor offering for EV, solar, and industrial markets.

Triton Acquires Bosch Security and Communications Technology Product Business (BSCT)

Funds advised by Triton have signed an agreement to acquire the Bosch Security and Communications Technology product business (BSCT) from the Bosch Group. BSCT—maker of video surveillance, access and intrusion control, and professional communication products (brands include Dynacord, Electro-Voice, RTS, Telex)—has ~4,300 employees, generated more than €1 billion in revenues in FY2023, and the transaction is expected to close by the end of H1 2025 subject to regulatory approvals.

onsemi Acquires GT Advanced Technologies

onsemi has completed its acquisition of GT Advanced Technologies (GTAT), a U.S.-based producer of silicon carbide (SiC). The acquisition strengthens onsemi's SiC crystal growth and wafer capabilities to secure supply for EV, EV charging and energy infrastructure markets and onsemi plans to invest in GTAT's manufacturing and R&D to scale 150mm and 200mm SiC production.

Semtech Corporation Acquires Sierra Wireless

Semtech Corporation agreed to acquire Sierra Wireless for US$31 per share in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately US$1.2 billion. The deal combines Semtech's LoRa capabilities with Sierra Wireless' cellular modules, gateways and cloud services to create a chip-to-cloud IoT platform, expand Semtech's addressable IoT market and add meaningful recurring cloud revenue and operational synergies.

Siemens Acquires UltraSoC Technologies

Siemens has signed an agreement to acquire Cambridge, UK–based UltraSoC Technologies Ltd., a provider of embedded instrumentation and analytics for system-on-chip (SoC) monitoring, cybersecurity and functional safety. Siemens will integrate UltraSoC into its Xcelerator portfolio within the Tessent product suite to create a unified design-for-lifecycle management solution; the deal is expected to close in Siemens' fiscal Q4 2020 and terms were not disclosed.

Triton Completes Acquisition of Siemens Energy's Trench Business

Triton Fund V, advised by Triton, has completed the acquisition of Siemens Energy's Trench business, a global manufacturer of high‑voltage grid components. Trench operates nine factories across Europe, North America and China with approximately 2,400 employees; Triton said the asset will support its strategy to back market‑leading industrial technology companies and benefit from the energy transition.
