Bosch Acquires Assets of TSI Semiconductors

Bosch is acquiring the assets of U.S. chipmaker TSI Semiconductors in Roseville, California, and plans to invest more than $1.5 billion to convert and expand the facility for silicon carbide (SiC) chip production. The deal gives Bosch a foundry with roughly 250 employees and about 10,000 square meters of clean-room space, accelerating its capability to produce SiC chips for automotive, telecommunications and energy markets and expanding its semiconductor manufacturing footprint in the United States.
