Apis & Heritage Capital Partners financed an employee-led buyout (ELBO) converting Denver-based general contractor Sky Blue Builders into a 100% employee-owned company, creating shared ownership for over 40 employees. The transaction was co-financed by VectraBank of Colorado and supported by the State of Colorado's cash collateral program; A&H will help steward growth while promoting wealth-building for workers of color.

Ethoscapes Acquires Houston Landscapes Unlimited

Ethoscapes, a commercial landscaping platform and portfolio company of Evolution Strategy Partners, has acquired Houston Landscapes Unlimited, a large Houston-area commercial landscape and irrigation contractor. Equity for the transaction was provided by Evolution Strategy Partners alongside Gemini Investors and Genesis Park; financial terms were not disclosed. Dean Carpenter, founder and president of Houston Landscapes Unlimited, was advised by CCG Advisors on the sale.

Apollo Impact Acquires Accent Family of Companies

Funds managed by Apollo (through its Apollo Impact platform) completed the acquisition of the Accent Family of Companies, which includes Accent Wire-Tie, Accent Wire-Tie United Kingdom and Accent Building Materials. Existing investor Crossplane Capital and the Sims family will retain a minority stake; financial terms were not disclosed. The acquisition positions Accent for global expansion across its recycling/waste and building materials end markets.

Sterling Investment Partners’ portfolio company HeartLand, LLC acquired three commercial landscape and facilities services providers — Heritage Landscape Services, Landscape Concepts Management and Snowmen365 — expanding HeartLand’s footprint in Washington, D.C., Chicago and Kansas City. The acquisitions are add-ons to HeartLand’s multi-market platform as Sterling continues to grow the company since its initial investment in 2019.

Azalea Capital Invests in Landscapers Supply Inc.

Azalea Capital, a Greenville, South Carolina-based private investment firm, has made a growth investment in Landscapers Supply Inc., a multi-location landscaping supplies and retail business headquartered in Greenville, SC; founder Mark Ells remains an owner. The capital will support the company’s continued expansion across South Carolina and into Western North Carolina and Northern Georgia, including opening a sixth location in Seneca, SC and staffing growth to support new product offerings and services.
