Fortinet Acquires OPAQ Networks

Fortinet has acquired OPAQ Networks, a Herndon, Virginia-based Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) cloud provider, to integrate OPAQ’s patented Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) architecture into Fortinet’s Security Fabric. The acquisition strengthens Fortinet’s SASE offering—bringing scalable cloud-native ZTNA, partner-friendly multi-tenant capabilities, and expanded cloud security functionality; financial terms were not disclosed.

The acquisition will integrate CloudGenix’s SD-WAN technology to accelerate onboarding of remote branches and retail locations into Palo Alto Networks’ SASE offering; the CloudGenix co-founders will join Palo Alto Networks following the close, expected in the company’s fiscal fourth quarter subject to customary conditions.
