Wynnchurch Capital Acquires Astro Shapes from Monomoy Capital Partners

Wynnchurch Capital has acquired Astro Shapes, LLC, a custom aluminum extrusion manufacturer headquartered in Struthers, Ohio, from Monomoy Capital Partners in a private-equity-to-private-equity transaction. Wynnchurch will partner with Astro Shapes' management to accelerate growth and leverage the company's specialized extrusion capabilities across building products, recreational vehicle and industrial end markets.

Maysteel Industries Acquires Star Precision Manufacturing, Inc.

Maysteel Industries, a portfolio company of Littlejohn Capital, acquired Star Precision Manufacturing, a full-service sheet metal fabrication and precision machining firm in Frederick, Colorado. Patriot Capital provided subordinated debt financing in support of the add-on acquisition, which expands Maysteel's manufacturing capabilities and geographic footprint in the Mountain West.

GE Aerospace Acquires Northstar Aerospace from Wynnchurch Capital

Wynnchurch Capital has sold Northstar Aerospace, a Bedford Park, Illinois-based manufacturer of flight-critical and non-flight-critical aircraft parts, to GE Aerospace. Northstar produces complex components such as gears, housings, assemblies and shafts for helicopter transmission systems; Vedder Price provided legal counsel to Wynnchurch and Lincoln International and Moelis & Company served as financial advisors.

Akoya Capital Partners Acquires Star Plastics

Akoya Capital Partners acquired Star Plastics, a Ravenswood, West Virginia-based custom plastics compounder, as the anchor investment for a new compounds buy-and-build platform. The transaction was supported with mezzanine subordinated debt and common equity from NewSpring Mezzanine and involved Trinity Investors as a partnering investor; Star Plastics (≈140 employees) will pursue organic growth and M&A to expand its capabilities and geographic reach.

Standex International Acquires McStarlite Co.

Standex International Corporation has acquired McStarlite Co., a Harbor City, California-based maker of complex sheet metal aerospace components, for approximately $56.5 million in cash. McStarlite will be reported in Standex's Engineering Technologies Group and the acquisition is intended to expand Standex's forming capabilities and provide cross-selling and technical-exchange opportunities with its Spincraft business.
