The transaction was funded with capital from The Baupost Group and strengthens TravelPerk's position as the leading travel management platform for SMBs in the UK and globally.

Affiliates of private equity firms Siris Capital Group and Evergreen Coast Capital (an Elliott affiliate) completed an all-cash acquisition of Travelport Worldwide Limited for approximately $4.4 billion. Travelport will be privately held by the buyers, delist from the NYSE, and the deal is intended to support investment in the company’s travel commerce platform and continued product and capability development.

The Culture Trip site — founded in London in 2011 with 75,000+ travel articles, millions of monthly users and a dedicated apps audience — will continue to operate under the Culture Trip brand; terms were not disclosed.
