Raven Industries Acquires Smart Ag

Raven Industries (NASDAQ: RAVN) acquired Smart Ag Inc., a developer of autonomous farming solutions headquartered in Ames, Iowa, to bolster its Raven Autonomy strategic growth platform and integrate Smart Ag into its Applied Technology division. The deal expands Raven's autonomous and perception/path-planning capabilities for OEM partners and large-scale agricultural retailers and brings Smart Ag's retrofit kits, software platform and dealer network into Raven's precision-ag portfolio.

Industrial Opportunity Partners Acquires Raven Engineered Films Division from CNH Industrial

Industrial Opportunity Partners (IOP) has acquired the Raven Engineered Films Division from CNH Industrial for $350 million. The Sioux Falls-based business, a manufacturer of engineered polymer films and sheeting for agriculture, construction and industrial markets, will operate as IOP's first platform investment from Fund IV with management continuing to lead the company.

Raven SR Acquires Benicia Fabrication & Machine

Raven SR Inc., a Wyoming-based waste-to-renewable-fuels company, has acquired Benicia Fabrication & Machine Inc. (BFM), a San Francisco Bay Area heavy fabrication shop. The acquisition makes BFM a wholly owned subsidiary of Raven SR to secure fabrication of proprietary reactors and expand Raven SR's manufacturing capabilities for renewable hydrogen and synthetic fuels while allowing BFM to enter the green energy market.

SunPower Acquires Blue Raven Solar

SunPower Corporation acquired Blue Raven Solar in a cash transaction of up to $165 million to accelerate its residential solar business and expand its geographic footprint into underpenetrated U.S. regions. Blue Raven’s CEO Ben Peterson will join SunPower’s executive team as SunPower combines its products and digital tools with Blue Raven’s direct-to-consumer sales and installation capabilities to grow residential solar and related financing products.

Rain Bird Corporation Acquires Rachio, Inc.

Rain Bird Corporation has acquired Rachio, Inc., a Denver-based maker of cloud-connected smart irrigation controllers and related smart-home irrigation products. Rachio will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary led by CEO and co-founder Chris Klein, combining Rain Bird's irrigation manufacturing scale with Rachio's connected-home technology to expand sustainable irrigation and smart-product offerings.

Lincoln Electric Acquires RedViking

Lincoln Electric Holdings, Inc. has acquired RedViking, a privately held automation system integrator headquartered in Plymouth, Michigan. The purchase expands Lincoln Electric's automation and testing capabilities—adding AGVs, mobile robots, custom assembly and dynamic test systems plus proprietary MES software—and extends its reach in aerospace & defense and transportation markets; RedViking generates roughly $70 million in annual revenue and its results will be reported in Lincoln's Americas Welding Segment.
