Bain Capital has completed the acquisition of PowerSchool Holdings, a Folsom, California-based provider of cloud-based K-12 education software, for $22.80 per share in cash, valuing the company at approximately $5.6 billion. Vista Equity Partners and Onex Partners retain minority stakes; the deal takes PowerSchool private to accelerate product innovation (including its PowerBuddy generative AI platform) and expand its global reach.

Education Advanced Acquires School Software Group

Education Advanced, a Tyler, Texas–based K-12 EdTech SaaS company, has acquired Wisconsin-based School Software Group, maker of BuildYourOwnCurriculum (BYOC). The acquisition expands Education Advanced's product suite (adding BYOC's curriculum and learning-management capabilities) and increases its client footprint to over 500 districts, 6,500 schools and 4.6 million students.
