Metro Supply Chain Inc. has entered into an agreement to acquire SCI Group Inc. from Canada Post Corporation and Purolator Holdings Ltd., strengthening Metro's position as a leading North American strategic contract logistics provider. The acquisition adds new verticals and capabilities (including expanded e-commerce and sector coverage) to Metro's offering, and SCI's CEO Chris Galindo will remain with the combined entity.

Sun Capital Affiliate Acquires Century Distribution Systems

An affiliate of private equity firm Sun Capital Partners has completed the acquisition of Century Distribution Systems, a global digital logistics provider offering supply chain management and freight forwarding services. Sun Capital said it will apply its corporate carve-out and operational expertise to drive performance and pursue strategic add-on opportunities to broaden Century's capabilities; terms were not disclosed.

Lineage Logistics Acquires MTC Logistics

Lineage Logistics acquired MTC Logistics, a cold-chain provider operating four refrigerated facilities near key U.S. East and Gulf Coast ports (Baltimore, Wilmington, Philadelphia and Mobile). The deal adds nearly 38 million cubic feet of capacity and over 113,000 pallet positions to Lineage's global temperature-controlled network; financial terms were not disclosed. MTC was a wholly owned subsidiary of Hoffberger Holdings, Inc.

Cathay Investments Acquires Mercian Logistics

Pilot Freight Services, a Glen Mills, Pennsylvania–based transportation and logistics provider backed by ATL Partners and British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI), acquired the Metro New York franchise effective November 1, 2020. The franchise and its employees will be integrated into Pilot to increase the company’s operational control and capacity in the high-volume Metro New York inbound and last-mile market, expanding its heavy/bulky and white-glove delivery capabilities.
