Spotify Acquires WhoSampled

Spotify has acquired London-based music database and discovery platform WhoSampled, onboarding the team and its extensive community-run database. The deal (terms undisclosed) will integrate WhoSampled’s data into Spotify’s music discovery features, including the new SongDNA tool, and aims to speed moderation and expand product availability.

Fingerpaint Acquires Splice

Fingerpaint, the Saratoga Springs, New York–based health and wellness marketing firm, has acquired Splice, a healthcare communications agency in Emeryville, California, and will fully integrate it into the Fingerpaint brand. Financial terms were not disclosed; Splice co‑founder Paul Hagopian will continue to lead the team and report to Fingerpaint partner Bill McEllen. Knox Lane is a strategic investor in Fingerpaint.

VIAVI Solutions Acquires Spirent Communications

VIAVI Solutions has agreed to acquire Spirent Communications plc in an all-cash offer valuing Spirent at approximately £1,005 million (about $1,277 million), with Spirent shareholders to receive 172.5 pence per share plus a special dividend. The transaction, supported by a strategic convertible note investment from Silver Lake and committed debt facilities, is expected to close in the second half of 2024 subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals and is intended to create a leading provider of test, assurance and security solutions across service providers, data centers and mission-critical infrastructure.
