Tate & Lyle Acquires Sweet Green Fields

Tate & Lyle PLC has acquired the remaining shares of Sweet Green Fields, a global stevia solutions business, bringing SGF's integrated stevia supply chain and product portfolio into Tate & Lyle. The deal strengthens Tate & Lyle's sweetener solutions capability and extends its presence in the faster-growing Asia Pacific region, with dedicated stevia production and R&D facilities in Anji, Zhejiang, China.

Blue Road Capital Acquires NatureSweet from Silver Ventures

Blue Road Capital, an investment firm focused on vertically integrated food and agriculture businesses, has acquired NatureSweet (NS Brands, Ltd.), the largest vertically integrated greenhouse-grown produce company in North America, from Silver Ventures for an undisclosed sum. NatureSweet grows, harvests, and packages tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers across more than 1,400 acres and employs over 6,000 people, with products sold through major supermarkets across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

KPS Forms Primient to Acquire Tate & Lyle's Primary Products Business

KPS Capital Partners agreed to acquire a controlling stake in Tate & Lyle’s Primary Products business and, together with Tate & Lyle, formed NewCo (Primient) to own the assets for an enterprise value of $1.7 billion. The transaction (a divestiture of Tate & Lyle’s Primary Products unit) creates an independent platform focused on nutritive sweeteners, industrial starches and other corn-derived ingredients, with KPS holding operational control and Tate & Lyle retaining a ~50% ownership stake.

Founders Ilana and Marc Kadonoff retain a significant minority stake and will continue to lead the company as Fengate provides capital and resources to accelerate expansion across Canada and into the U.S.; financial terms were not disclosed.
