Covanta Holding Corp. acquired SGS Recovery, Frontier Fibers and Buffalo Fuel Corp., three Niagara Falls, New York–based companies that provide engineered fuels production, biodegradable agricultural bedding, and waste hauling/logistics. The purchases expand Covanta’s sustainable materials management capabilities, geographic footprint in Western New York, and its alternative fuels and waste-to-product offerings while strengthening its ESG and circular-economy services.

EQT Infrastructure has agreed to acquire Covanta Holding Corporation, a Morristown, New Jersey–headquartered owner and operator of waste-to-energy facilities, for $20.25 per share in a transaction valued at $5.3 billion including assumed net debt. The deal, unanimously approved by Covanta’s board, will be financed by EQT Infrastructure V and is expected to close by year-end; EQT said it plans to invest in operational, digital and sustainability initiatives to grow Covanta's waste processing, energy production and metals recycling businesses.

Covanta Acquires Circon Holdings from Kinderhook Industries

Covanta has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Circon Holdings, Inc., a Kinderhook Industries portfolio company, in a transaction that adds more than 600 employees and some 2,500 customers to Covanta's platform. Evoqua Water Technologies Acquires Frontier Water Systems

Conestoga Energy has acquired SAFFiRE Renewables, LLC from Southwest Airlines Renewable Ventures LLC, obtaining SAFFiRE’s IP, certain technologies, a proposed pilot production facility, and key technical staff. The acquisition gives Conestoga access to SAFFiRE’s DMR pretreatment technology to produce ultra-low carbon intensity ethanol for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and supports plans for a co-located pilot in Liberal, Kansas and future commercial-scale production.
