Richardson International Acquires 8th Avenue Pasta Business (Ronzoni)

Richardson International Limited has completed the acquisition of the pasta business of 8th Avenue Food & Provisions, including a durum mill, three pasta manufacturing facilities (Carrington, ND; New Hope, MN; Winchester, VA) and the Ronzoni brand. The business was sold by Post Holdings/8th Avenue and transfers more than 500 US employees to Richardson, strengthening Richardson's vertically integrated durum-to-pasta supply chain and expanding its retail, private-label, foodservice and ingredient capabilities in North America.

Fulcrum Capital Partners Invests in Sunco Foods

Fulcrum Capital Partners, a Canadian private equity firm, has invested in Sunco Foods, a Burnaby, British Columbia-based manufacturer and distributor of nut-based butters, snacks, and ingredient products. The investment — Fulcrum’s fifth platform in its Private Equity Fund VI — will support Sunco’s growth and capability expansion while retaining management involvement from Samir Virani and his family.

Nature's Touch Acquires Sunrise Growers (SunOpta) Frozen Fruit Operations

Nature's Touch has acquired certain assets of Sunrise Growers, the frozen fruit operations of SunOpta Inc., in a transaction valued at an aggregate purchase price of approximately $141 million. The deal transfers facilities in Edwardsville, Kansas and Jacona, Mexico to Nature's Touch, expanding its production capacity, product diversity and North American geographic reach.

Sun Capital Affiliate Acquires Fresh Origins from LaSalle Capital

An affiliate of Sun Capital Partners has completed the acquisition of Fresh Origins, a San Marcos, California–based grower and shipper of microgreens and edible flowers. LaSalle Capital, which owned Fresh Origins since ~2018, exited the business; terms were not disclosed and Fresh Origins' CEO Norma St. Amant will remain in place as Sun Capital pursues expanded foodservice and retail penetration and operational improvements.

Investcorp Acquires Majority Stake in Sunrise Produce

Lee Partners. 8th Avenue, headquartered in Minneapolis, produces private‑label peanut and tree nut butters, dry pasta and granola; the capital is intended to support organic growth and enable consolidation of the fragmented private‑brand food market. Terms were not disclosed.
