Vilex Acquires DT MedTech (Hintermann Series Total Ankle Prostheses)

Vilex, LLC (a member of the Squadron Capital family of businesses) has acquired DT MedTech, LLC and its Hintermann Series total ankle replacement product lines (H2 and H3). DT MedTech will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Vilex; Vilex will support US sales through its organization while DT MedTech continues manufacturing and marketing outside the US through its existing distribution network. The deal expands Vilex's lower‑extremity orthopedic product portfolio and global commercial reach.

The deal included an upfront payment of $39.9 million and up to $7 million in additional milestone payments (with $3.5 million guaranteed), giving Surmodics a second FDA 510(k)-cleared mechanical thrombectomy device and IP to accelerate its thrombectomy platform development.
