CID Capital Acquires Kind Water Systems

Indianapolis-based private equity firm CID Capital has acquired Kind Water Systems, a Daytona Beach-based provider of whole-home water filtration and water softening systems. CID plans to grow Kind Water as a platform investment from its CID Capital Opportunity Fund III and has installed Tony Friesl as CEO to lead expansion initiatives.

Fortune Brands Acquires Solar Innovations

Fortune Brands Home & Security (FBHS) acquired Solar Innovations, LLC on January 31, 2022, adding the Pittsburgh-area manufacturer of wide-opening exterior door systems and outdoor enclosures to its Outdoors & Security segment. The deal (up to $63 million net of tax benefits) brings Solar Innovations' ~30 patents, R&D capabilities and ~135 associates into Fortune Brands to accelerate its outdoor living product portfolio and premium door offerings.

Avista Capital Partners Acquires WellSpring Consumer Healthcare

WellSpring, founded in 1999 and headquartered in Sarasota, Florida, is a developer and marketer of over-the-counter and personal care brands (including Bactine, Bonine, Emetrol and Glaxal Base); Avista plans to support growth through product innovation, distribution expansion and strategic acquisitions.

Quench Acquires Neptune Water Solutions

Fortune Brands Home & Security acquired Aqualisa Holdings (International) Ltd., a U.K. designer and manufacturer of premium smart and digital shower products. The acquisition (announced July 29, 2022) expands Fortune Brands' Water Innovations portfolio, adding digital shower capabilities and accelerating international growth; the deal follows an exit by PE firm LDC and was valued at about £130 million (approximately $160 million).

Cleanwater1, a Baird Capital portfolio company, has acquired Atlanta-area PureAir Filtration, a manufacturer and servicer of gas‑phase air‑filtration systems and chemisorbent media. The acquisition expands Cleanwater1's gas‑phase solutions and aftermarket service capability for municipal and industrial water/wastewater and other industrial customers; PureAir's president Ashley Jameson will remain in place.
