Spectra Medical Devices Acquires XL Precision Technologies

Spectra Medical Devices, a portfolio company of QHP Capital, has closed its acquisition of XL Precision Technologies Ltd., a Stockton‑on‑Tees based CDMO that manufactures precision micro-components, complex tubular components, and sub‑assemblies for the medical device industry. Rubicon Partners Industries, which acquired XL‑PT in 2008, was the seller; the deal expands Spectra's development and precision‑manufacturing capabilities to better serve medical device OEMs.

Montagu to Acquire Johnson Matthey's Medical Device Components Business

Montagu, a London-based private equity firm, has agreed to acquire Johnson Matthey’s carved-out Medical Device Components (MDC) business to create a standalone precision-components platform supporting minimally invasive medical devices. The transaction (reported at approximately US$700 million) will leave MDC led by its existing management and is subject to customary regulatory approvals.

KB Components AB Acquires Certain Assets of Post Meridiem Plastics Ltd. (PM Plastics)

Swedish manufacturer KB Components AB acquired certain assets from Post Meridiem Plastics Ltd. (PM Plastics), a Windsor, Ontario-based producer of highly engineered plastic injection-molded components. The asset purchase expands KB’s manufacturing footprint and capabilities in North America; PM Plastics operates a 31,000 sq. ft. facility with 26 injection molding presses and offers services including two-shot molding, over-molding, insert molding and ultrasonic welding.

MDC (Medical Device Components) Acquires Lighteum

The add-on acquisition, which closed on November 8, 2024, expands MDC's nitinol processing and rapid-prototyping capabilities and extends manufacturing footprint in San Diego, Mexicali and Australia.
