Commonwealth Care Alliance Acquires Vitality Health Plan of California and Majority Stake in Reliance Healthcare

Boston-based Commonwealth Care Alliance (CCA) has completed its acquisition of Vitality Health Plan of California (now operating as CCA Health California) and entered into an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Michigan-based Reliance Healthcare, including its Medicare plan, ACO assets and a 600‑doctor physician organization. The moves are part of CCA's mission-driven geographic diversification into California, Michigan and Rhode Island and expand its complex-care capabilities; with these initiatives CCA will serve more than 62,000 individuals across four states.
