JLL Partners Acquires PowerParts Group

JLL Partners has acquired PowerParts Group, a precision manufacturer and field-services provider of aftermarket components for gas- and steam-turbine power plants, from Mangrove Equity Partners. JLL intends to use PowerParts Group as the foundation of a new engineering-focused power-generation components platform and plans to expand capacity and capabilities through organic investment and strategic acquisitions.

StandardAero Acquires Aero Turbine Inc.

StandardAero has acquired Aero Turbine, Inc., a Stockton, California-based provider of military engine and accessories MRO services, from Gallant Capital Partners. The acquisition strengthens StandardAero's military engine and component repair capabilities and adds a fully integrated 60,000+ sq. ft. Stockton facility and nearly 200 technicians to its network.

Alpine Air Express Acquires Substantially All Assets of Great Lakes Airlines

Alpine Air Express, a Provo-based regional air-cargo operator and portfolio company of AE Industrial Partners, acquired 27 aircraft and associated engines, propellers, spare parts and ground support equipment from Great Lakes Airlines. The purchase expands Alpine’s fleet, maintenance support and spare-parts availability and will allow conversion of the Beech 1900D aircraft into cargo configuration using Alpine’s supplemental type certificate (STC). Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

STAR Turbine Acquires Thor Precision

STAR Turbine, a Mangrove Equity Partners-backed specialty turbine parts manufacturer, has acquired Thor Precision, a Greenville, South Carolina-based precision manufacturer of aftermarket gas turbine parts. Thor founders remain equity owners (Andy Pelinsky promoted to President), and the deal is part of Mangrove's strategy to build a family of aftermarket turbine parts manufacturers.

Battle Investment Group and Capricorn Holdings Acquire Turbopower

Turbopower, an MRO provider for gas turbine engines, auxiliary power units and components based in Opa-Locka, Florida, was acquired by Battle Investment Group and Capricorn Holdings in a transaction that closed on June 21, 2021. Vlad Miskovic will become President as the new owners plan internal investments, capability expansion and footprint growth to support commercial and military customers worldwide; terms were not disclosed.
