Platinum Equity Invests in HVAC/R Distributor Global, The Source (Joins with MARS)

Platinum Equity has made a strategic investment in Global, the Source, a master distributor of HVAC/R components, and its AmRad Manufacturing subsidiary, joining the company with Motors & Armatures (MARS) to form an integrated HVAC/R platform. As part of the transaction, Philip Windham was named CEO of the combined platform while Global owner Dickie Sirotiak and his family remain shareholders; financial terms were not disclosed.

Platinum Equity Acquires Sunrise Medical from Nordic Capital

Platinum Equity has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Sunrise Medical Group, a Germany-headquartered global manufacturer and distributor of assistive mobility products, from Nordic Capital. The buyout (expected to close in Q3 2024) positions Platinum to pursue a buy-and-build strategy to expand Sunrise's geographic footprint—particularly in North America—and to accelerate product and operational investments.

ASP Global Acquires MediCore Medical Supply

ASP Global Acquires Shumsky Therapeutic Pillows

ASP Global, a privately held Atlanta-based medical sourcing and distribution company, has acquired Shumsky Therapeutic Pillows, the Dayton, Ohio–based maker and distributor of therapeutic pillows used by hospitals nationwide. Shumsky will continue operations in Dayton with manufacturing in Richmond, Indiana; the acquisition is an add-on to ASP's portfolio (which has been associated with Incline Equity Partners) to expand its patient-preference product offering and hospital relationships.
