Werner Enterprises Acquires 80% Stake in ECM Transport Group

Werner Enterprises acquired an 80% equity stake in ECM Transport Group for $142.4 million, with an exclusive option to purchase the remaining 20% after five years. The deal adds nearly 500 trucks, 2,000 trailers and over 500 drivers to Werner's network, increasing its short-haul/regional truckload capabilities and expanding its presence in the Mid-Atlantic, Ohio and Northeast regions.

Werner Enterprises (Nasdaq: WERN) acquired privately held First Enterprises, Inc. ("FirstFleet"), a Murfreesboro, Tennessee–based dedicated trucking company, for approximately $245 million in cash plus a separate purchase of real estate (total consideration ~ $282.8 million). The deal adds ~2,400 tractors and 11,000 trailers to Werner, makes it the fifth-largest dedicated carrier in North America, is expected to be immediately accretive to EPS and to yield about $18 million of annual synergies while retaining most FirstFleet management and its Tennessee headquarters.

DHL Supply Chain Acquires IDS Fulfillment

DHL Supply Chain, a unit of Deutsche Post, has acquired Indiana-based IDS Fulfillment to expand its U.S. warehousing and fulfillment network for small and midsize e-commerce customers. The deal (terms undisclosed) brings roughly 1.3 million square feet of warehouse and distribution space across three states and was agreed before recent tariff changes.

Wilson Logistics Acquires Haney Truck Line Assets

Wilson Logistics Inc., a family-owned trucking and logistics company based in Springfield, Missouri, purchased the assets of Haney Truck Line, adding 400 tractors, 1,200 trailers and terminals in Spokane, Yakima and Tumwater, Washington; Boise, Idaho; and Portland, Oregon. The seller was Evergreen Pacific Partners; the acquisition expands Wilson's geographic presence in the Pacific Northwest and adds heavy-haul and specialized flatbed freight capabilities.
