Sontiq, a portfolio company of The Wicks Group, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Cyberscout, a provider of cyber products and forensic investigation services tailored to the insurance industry. The acquisition expands Sontiq's identity and cyber protection platform (alongside IdentityForce and EZShield) and deepens its capabilities and relationships in the insurance and financial services markets.

TransUnion Acquires Sontiq for $638M

TransUnion has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Sontiq, a consumer identity protection company headquartered in Nottingham, Maryland, for $638 million. The deal (from portfolio owner The Wicks Group) expands TransUnion’s consumer identity and cyber protection offerings—Sontiq generated about $85 million of revenue in 2021 with an ~40% adjusted EBITDA margin and was acquired at ~19x FY2021 adjusted EBITDA; the transaction was expected to close in Q4 2021.

Resilience Acquires BreachQuest

Resilience has acquired BreachQuest, a Dallas-based incident response technology provider, to strengthen its incident response and forensics capabilities against Business Email Compromise (BEC) and other cyber threats. The integration will embed BreachQuest's cloud-office forensics and automation tools into Resilience's claim and incident management offerings to accelerate response times and reduce incident costs for clients.

Epiq Acquires First Watch Data Breach Solutions, LLC

The acquisition brings roughly 100 First Watch Data Breach Solutions employees into Epiq and broadens Epiq’s breach response, credit monitoring, call center, and notification services across North America, UK/EMEA, Australia and APAC.

SmartSights Acquires Sage Clarity

SmartSights, a Capstreet-backed provider of operational intelligence software, has acquired Chicago-based Sage Clarity, a maker of manufacturing activity data and analytics applications. The add-on deal (terms not disclosed) will integrate Sage Clarity's real-time machine and operational analytics into the SmartSights platform to expand detection, issue management and root-cause analysis capabilities for manufacturers.

Intelligent Technical Solutions Acquires Black Breach

Intelligent Technical Solutions (ITS), a Tower Arch Capital portfolio company, has acquired Atlanta-based Black Breach to expand ITS's managed cybersecurity and compliance capabilities. The deal was completed in partnership with Black Breach founder Justin Shanken and financed by Deerpath Capital; terms were not disclosed.
