Mastercam Acquires Advanced Mechanical Engineering AB (AME) in Sweden

Mastercam, part of the Sandvik Group, completed the acquisition of longtime channel partner Advanced Mechanical Engineering AB (AME) to establish a direct presence in Sweden and Norway. AME will operate as Mastercam Sverige, bringing local customer relationships, support capabilities, and training in-market to strengthen Mastercam's responsiveness and service delivery across the two Nordic markets.

Sandvik AB has signed an agreement to acquire Canada-based ICAM Technologies Corporation, a provider of post-processing, machine simulation and tool-path optimization software for CNC machining. ICAM (founded in Montreal in 1971) will be reported within Sandvik Coromant; the company has about 27 employees and 2020 revenues of roughly SEK 30 million. The deal is expected to close in Q4 2021 and strengthens Sandvik's verification and optimization offering for component manufacturing.

QTE, headquartered in St. Charles, Missouri, has 12 employees and reported around SEK 45 million in revenue in 2024; it will become part of Sandvik's Mastercam business unit within the Machining and Intelligent Manufacturing area. The purchase price was not disclosed.
