Reddit has acquired short-form video app Dubsmash in an undisclosed cash-and-stock deal to accelerate its video strategy. Dubsmash — a Berlin-based short-video social platform focused on creators and underrepresented communities — will operate as its own brand within Reddit while the founders and team join Reddit to integrate Dubsmash’s video creation tools into Reddit’s product.

The acquisition expands Rock Solid's product suite by combining Swagit's live streaming/on‑demand video and hands‑free broadcast services with Rock Solid's OneMeeting agenda/meeting management platform, increasing the combined customer base to nearly 800 public sector customers; Swagit co‑founder Bryan Halley will join Rock Solid's executive team.
