Alianza Acquires Metaswitch from Microsoft

Alianza, Inc. has completed its acquisition of Metaswitch from Microsoft, integrating Metaswitch’s cloud‑native communications software into Alianza’s platform to accelerate product innovation and help service providers modernize core networks. The transaction expands Alianza’s combined customer base to more than 1,000 service providers, including 19 of the top 20 global operators, and is financed by existing Alianza investors and a Wells Fargo‑led bank syndicate.

CounterPath became a wholly owned, privately held subsidiary of Alianza and its common stock was suspended/delisted from public exchanges following the closing. The deal expands Alianza’s cloud communications platform with video conferencing, messaging and mobile collaboration capabilities.
