Alianza Acquires Metaswitch from Microsoft

Alianza, Inc. has completed its acquisition of Metaswitch from Microsoft, integrating Metaswitch’s cloud‑native communications software into Alianza’s platform to accelerate product innovation and help service providers modernize core networks. The transaction expands Alianza’s combined customer base to more than 1,000 service providers, including 19 of the top 20 global operators, and is financed by existing Alianza investors and a Wells Fargo‑led bank syndicate.

Verily Acquires SignalPath

Verily, an Alphabet company, has acquired SignalPath, a Raleigh-based clinical trial management system (CTMS) provider and portfolio company of Highlander Partners. The deal brings SignalPath's site-focused CTMS and network of research sites into Verily's Baseline clinical studies platform to accelerate clinical trial execution, decentralization and evidence generation; SignalPath employees will join Verily and remain based in Raleigh.

Cisco Acquires BroadSoft for $1.9B

Cisco agreed to acquire BroadSoft, a provider of cloud PBX, unified communications, team collaboration and contact center software, for $1.9 billion (paying $55 per share). The deal strengthens Cisco's software- and cloud-focused collaboration portfolio and brings BroadSoft's large service-provider customer base and cloud voice/contact-center capabilities into Cisco's applications group.

UPSTACK Acquires Sidepath Global

UPSTACK has acquired Sidepath Global Inc., a Henderson, Nevada-based telecom solutions provider, and entered a strategic partnership with Sidepath Inc., the company's Laguna Hills, California-based VAR. The deal brings Sidepath Global's subscription-based data center, UCaaS/CCaaS, connectivity and cloud services business (serving ~150 customers) into UPSTACK; founders Jim Andronaco and Patrick Mulvee will remain involved with the VAR business while Andronaco joins UPSTACK as a Partner and Managing Director. Terms were not disclosed.

SourceLink Acquires Path Interactive
