Microsoft Acquires Metaswitch Networks

Microsoft signed a definitive agreement to acquire Metaswitch Networks, a provider of cloud-native communications and virtualized network software, expanding Azure's capabilities for telecom operators and 5G deployments. The deal, which follows Microsoft's acquisition of Affirmed Networks, was completed from seller Francisco Partners (which had owned Metaswitch alongside other shareholders) and will be used to integrate Metaswitch's talent and technology into Azure to serve operators globally.
