VersiCare Group, a Seven Hills Capital partner, has acquired Michigan-based CHS Group LLC, a provider of Community Living Support and respite services. CHS will become a division of VersiCare’s ExpertCare organization as VersiCare expands its footprint in southeastern Michigan; former owner Joe Bates will form a new company, The Ability Hub, to continue providing Adult Day Training.

Caregiver Inc. Acquires Four I/DD Service Providers in Indiana and Ohio

Fort Worth-based Caregiver Inc. acquired four providers — Heartland Residential (Indiana), Opportunities To Succeed (Ohio), Concepts in Community Living (Ohio) and Hope Homes of Richland County (Ohio) — expanding its long-term services and supports footprint in Indiana and Ohio. The transactions add roughly 200 individuals served and about 300 employees to Caregiver’s network and extend its supported living, group home and adult day service capabilities.

Pharos Capital-backed Charter Health Care Group acquired two hospice/home-health providers: Vitality Home Healthcare (dba Phoenix Home Care & Hospice) in Denver, Colorado and Heartwood Home Health & Hospice in the Salt Lake City, Utah area. The deals are add-on acquisitions for Charter's post-acute care platform as it expands its hospice and home-health footprint across the Mountain West.

Fort Worth-based Caregiver Inc., a provider of long-term care services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, acquired four providers: Houston Group Homes (Indiana), Cori Care (Columbus, Ohio), Absolute Care (Columbus, Ohio) and Personal Care Choices (eastern Tennessee). The transactions expand Caregiver’s geographic footprint into additional counties in Indiana, Ohio and Tennessee and add capabilities including community residential services, in‑home care and day‑rehabilitation services.

Help at Home Acquires The Adaptive Group

The transaction, advised by Edgemont Partners and closed on December 24, 2020, was for undisclosed terms and expands Help at Home's presence and scale in Indiana and the broader Midwest.

Vanco Acquires Smartcare

Vanco, a provider of technology and payment solutions for education, faith-based and nonprofit organizations, has acquired Smartcare, a cloud-based SaaS provider of child care center management software used by more than 2,000 centers. Smartcare's team will remain based in Las Vegas and Salt Lake City; the deal is supported by investor Great Hill Partners and was preceded by sponsorship of Smartcare from Charter Oak Equity and Lyrical Partners.
