New York-based private equity firm Sagewind Capital announced an investment in Perry, Georgia-headquartered Sigma Defense Systems, a provider of airborne ISR sensor data transport engineering and services. Financial terms were not disclosed; Sigma's founders retain significant equity while John Wilcox and Matt Jones joined as CEO and President to support the company's next phase of growth and capability expansion.

Irys Acquires Diversified Technical Services Inc. (DTSI)

San Antonio-based tech startup Irys has acquired Diversified Technical Services Inc. (DTSI), a longtime defense contractor now operating as a DTSI business unit of Irys. The all-cash deal preserves DTSI's name, its existing defense-sector contracts and roughly 60 employees, and gives Irys immediate past performance and capabilities to expand into government and DoD contracting.
