Beach Point Capital Management Makes Majority Investment in Botanical Designs

Beach Point Capital Management’s private equity team (on behalf of BPC Tactical Fund LP) made a majority investment in Botanical Designs, a specialty commercial landscaping and green-wall design, installation and maintenance company. Management will remain owners, terms were not disclosed, and the capital will support geographic expansion, business transformation and strategic M&A (Botanical Designs recently acquired Interior Foliage Company to expand in Seattle).

Botanical Designs (Beach Point) Acquires Foliage Design Systems

Botanical Designs, a commercial plantscaping platform and portfolio company of Beach Point Capital Management, has acquired Foliage Design Systems, an interior landscaping and plantscaping services provider with a long presence in the southeastern United States. The add-on expands Botanical Designs' geographic footprint into key southeastern markets (Orlando, Tampa Bay, Jacksonville and Atlanta) and strengthens its capabilities in design, installation and contracted plant maintenance.

Hydrofarm Acquires House & Garden

Hydrofarm Holdings Group, Inc. agreed to acquire House & Garden, Inc. and affiliated entities for approximately $125 million, funded with existing cash, with the acquired businesses becoming wholly owned indirect subsidiaries. The acquisition expands Hydrofarm's branded nutrients portfolio (including the House & Garden and Mad Farmer brands), with House & Garden expected to generate about $55 million in 2021 net sales and the deal valuing the business at under 7x estimated 2021 adjusted EBITDA.
